22nd ANNUAL TOUR Ride Logo 2009

The Tour de Tulsa, TdT, has been a spring cycling fixture for Tulsa-area cyclists for more than 20 years. Through incarnations as the "Graduation Ride," "T-Town Trek," and other monikers, the tour is closely associated with preparation for Freewheel and was the final FreeWheel training ride for many years. Offering several ride lengths, it serves as an introduction to larger touring events for new cyclists and for those who are a bit "rusty."

The TdT is held on the first Saturday of May each year. Mark your calendar now before you forget; Saturday, May 2, 2009, 8:00 a.m.! Day of ride registration will begin at 7am and the "Fun" ride will begin at 9am. This is great timing for those of you training for the Tulsa Tough and FreeWheel!

2009 INFO!

Please note the following to make your participation in the 2009 Tour de Tulsa the best it can be!
  • Bring a chair and stay awhile - don't forget to throw in a camp chair and stick around after the ride for some socializing.
  • You can register the morning of the ride, just show up a little early to give yourself time.
  • Pick up your packet at Tom's Bicycles, 68th and Peoria, Thursday afternoon/evening, April 30th, 3pm to 6pm.

What's New, or not?
Starting Locaiton - This year's Tour de Tulsa will begin and end at the River West Festival Park. This was such a great venue last year that it will likely be the starting location for several years to come.

Registration - Registration forms have been mailed to most Tulsa-area cyclists and cyclists who've ridden the Tour de Tulsa in the past. And for new riders and those who don't receive a registration in the mail, you can download a PDF copy here. To assure a T-shirt, completed registrations must be received by April 17, 2009, so don't dally

The ride is held "rain or shine" and we're hoping for much better weather this year. There are no refunds.

Ride cost for all but the fun ride is $25 for folks over 12. 12 and under registration is $5, as is registration for all ages for the 10-mile fun ride.

Downloadable Registration Form - You can download a PDF copy of the registration form here. Print the registration form, fill it out, and mail it to the address indicated.

Packet Pick-up - Riders may register and/or pick up their packets from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30th, 2009, at Tom's Bicycles located at 6861 S. Peoria Ave. Packets will also be available at 7:00 a.m. on ride day at the starting location, River West Festival Park.

Route Lengths & Start Times - The 2009 Tour de Tulsa will have five to choose from (note that mileages are approximate); 10, 21, 48, 61 & 101 miles. Start times are as follows:

  • 22, 48, 61 & 101-mile routes - 8:00 a.m.
  • 10 Mile Family Fun Ride - 9:00 a.m. (NOTE: No training wheels!)

All routes, except the century, are very similar to last year, with minor tweaks to avoid some rough roads. The century goes through Bristow instead of Slick and the route is much smoother. About 30 miles of the changed route has a full width shoulder.
